City Offers Tattoo Removal Program

Now this is something I wouldn’t have expected in Santa Clarita. The city offers ‘tattoo removal’.

This program is run through the Anti-Gang Task Force. From what I can tell, if you have gang related tattoos located on a part of your body that could inhibit you from getting a job, the city will pay to have them removed.

In order to qualify for this service you must contribute 32 hours of community service or successfully complete one self-improvement class.

These seems like a great offer to local residents that might want a fresh start in life, but from what I could gather from an article in the Signal, they don’t have that many people applying for the program. In fact, the city added the ‘one self-improvement class’ option because they thought it would encourage more people to sign up. What, 32 hours of community service isn’t worth getting a new leash on life?

Dr. Raskin at Advanced Dermatology is kind enough to donate his time while the city’s Anti-Gang Task Force pays for the use of the laser.

  1. In regards to the Tattoo Removal Program. I wish they would move it to Stockton CA because we do not have one and I have been searching for one that will do it for me. Because I don’t live in there county, I can’t get in the tattoo removal program.
My comment is that it sucks. They say they want to help but only people who live here? That’s stupid.
