STTOP
I was driving up McBean the other day when a car came to a complete stop infront of me just as we were about to cross Newhall Ranch Rd. After slamming on my brakes I discovered that the driver was a teenage girl and she decided to stop to talk to the boys in the car that were waiting in the left turn lane.
I have had one other close call with a teen driver this year, but let’s face it, they are driving legally, just sometimes dangerously. I don’t want to paint a picture about all teen drivers, but I will say that if you have an incident you can report it through STTOP.
I discovered this through the SCV Sheriff website. It stands for Sheriff’s Teen Traffic Offender Program. You basically will have to remember the time, date, location, description of the driver, type of car and the license plate. Or at least as many of those details as possible. I have used this website, I just don’t really know what happens with the information.
