Santa Clarita Skate Park Update

If you didn’t get a chance to attend the second phase of Site Design for this new skate park, here’s an update.
Basically, the city of Santa Clarita plans on beginning construction early 2008. They will leave the current park up as long as possible, but ultimately it will come down because the new skate park will be built right where the old one stands. The new skate park will have a tunnel underground that will connect two flow areas (this is not going to be a full pipe). In addition there will be a downhill cascading stair case along with many other obstacles for skaters to jump and grind.
I found this map of the preliminary design for the park online so here’s the link to Concrete Disciples. Of course, this is subject to change, but it really looks sharp. I hope they keep it as close to the design as possible.
