Santa Clarita Daily News Article
I am really excited to have been mentioned in the Daily News this weekend in an article titled ‘Blogs Keep Community Buzz Going‘. Connie Llanos and I played phone tag for a few weeks and were finally able to have a conversation about SCVLife. I was really pleased with the article and felt she represented everything I said to her very well. (Except for I’m a Valencia resident, not Canyon Country
)
I was glad to see that she also included Jeff Wilson’s SCVTalk.com. Of the three papers she said I read every morning, it’s actually the Signal, the Daily News and SCVTalk.com. I think that Jeff does an amazing job at summarizing daily news and bringing forth new and sometimes controversial information.
I do think the we are becoming a techno-based society and I see blogging as being in it’s early stages. More and more businesses are even turning to blogs to market themselves instead of traditional websites. I think blogging can give a company a voice, that some traditional websites don’t get across.
At any rate, seeing the article today was a pretty nice way to start my day.

I would like to make a comment about sales clerks in the SCV. It is rare when they say “thank you”. They either hand me the receipt without a smile or word, or more often than not, say “Have a Nice Day”. I was actually surprised two days ago when the clerk said “thank you”. What is up with this? Don’t these merchants teach their clerks manners?
