Roadtrip Nation

Just found something cool to share with my extreme sports readers.

Roadtrip Nation — is a documentary series (featured on PBS, MSN, Fuel TV) that encourages young people to explore careers and define their own roads in life.

They have an opportunity that might be of interest to you: Roadtrip Nation is currently seeking individuals who are passionate about action sports (and possibly considering a career in the field) to take part in their first-ever action sports-themed roadtrip this summer.  Food, transportation, lodging, and roundtrip flights to Los Angeles for selected applicants will all be covered by Roadtrip Nation.

The deadline to enter is fast approaching (May 19th) so if you want to apply go to their website here.

  1. Barbara,

What a great article to bring ‘to light’… especially since your kids and my daughter are all facing this very issue: What To Do With My Life!

I went through college because I knew that ‘I had to’, but I had no idea what “I wanted to be when I grew up”.

My 15 year old daughter has ‘changed careers’ at least 3 times since she was little (IE wanted to be a teacher, then a vet, then a pharmacist and so on).

Have you ever seen the show on the Fine Living Channel called Radical Sabbatical? http://www.fineliving.com/fine/radical_sabbatical/ I have not seen it in a while, but it is my favorite show on the Fine Living Channel (if they are still playing it). It is a half hour show that details 2 major career changes (per episode) of 2 separate individual people or couples who’ve given up their high paying careers to chase their dreams and do what they want to do for a living. Most times it is for a serious reduction in income in trade for being happy to get out of bed each day and head to ‘work’.

That show calls to my creative side and always makes me rethink what I am currently doing for income… I hope you, or your readers, tune in one day and enjoy the show as much as I do.

Wow, guess I’m passionate about ‘finding what makes you happy in life” because I had no idea I wrote this much… Thanks to this article, I am going to look for the show Road Trip Nation and hopefully enjoy it as much as I do Radical Sabbatical.

Thanks again for bringing this to my attention.

    Sincerely,

    Matt Pellerin
