Laura Peskay and Her Vintage Lady
Santa Clarita high schooler Laura Peskay had the opportunity of a lifetime when she and her family were flown to Washington DC as a result of Peskay winning an art competition.
Every year, the Congressional Art Competition picks one work of art by a high school kid to hang in the Tunnel Gallery in the Capitol building.
Peskay won the competition a couple of months ago for her charcoal “Vintage Lady”, which now hangs next to 300 other pictures in the Tunnel Gallery, where it will remain for one year.
Peskay and her family traveled to Washington DC courtesy of Southwest Airlines to meet their congressman and attend a special induction ceremony.
On her return from Washington DC, Peskay joined KHTS for an interview to talk about her pride in representing the City of Santa Clarita.
