More on Preparedness Month

Santa Clarita residents are being encouraged to be prepared for any emergencies that might occur in their homes, businesses and schools as part of National Preparedness month.

On Monday, September 10, the National Weather Service is sponsoring free weather spotter training for the City of Santa Clarita, at 7pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

National Preparedness Month is part of a nationwide attempt every September to increase public awareness and encourage residents to be prepared for any emergency.

Residents are advised to create an emergency supply kit and to educate themselves about the different kinds of threats to their safety, for example earthquakes or wildfires.

National Preparedness Month is sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.

Please visit the city website or here for more information.
