Local Media Truck in Santa Clarita

I just saw this truck driving around town. I was only able to get a picture of the back, but on the side there are advertisements flashing and changing. This can’t be good for traffic.

So it kinda looks like this is a moving billboard. Is that violating any city rules? It’s really distracting.

  1. I have seen this vehicle and do not fine it offensive at all. I have also spoken with the operators.

This appears to be a new technology that presents a cost effective way for local business to get their message out and it appears to beat the hell out of flyers left on windshields that clutter streets and parking lots and require the cost of cleaning-up after.

I would much rather be on the road with this truck, rather than one that sits 8 feet off the ground and has it’s headlights blinding me in my rearview mirror.

Also, I cannot help but notice that there appears to be a “public service notice” being displayed on the rear of this vehicle. Can this really be a bad thing? Furthermore, I notice that the traffic signal is green with vehicles moving through the intersection. From the view I am look at, one can only wonder why the writer is more concerned about this new enterprise than keep their hands on the wheel and driving their own vehicle.

I should think that shooting pictures while driving would be right up there with dialing a cell phone and considerably more dangerous than sharing the road with an advertising truck.

  2. Great observations. I’m glad you like the truck.

The photo is deceiving because you can’t tell how slowly everyone is moving.

By the way…My daughter took the photo. Next time I will specify that when I post.

I stick to talking on the cell phone and applying make up while I drive. :)

I don’t think this is true! why your daugher take this photo too close to the driver side ? I try to take the same photo and it is not possible. Don’t lie !!!

Wow-you take this pretty seriously. What are you a CSI?

Try it again from the backseat, stretch your arm out, lean forward, zoom and click a few times. You’ll get a good shot.

Picture or no picture, the truck is distracting and this discussion is lame and over!
