Holiday Activities in Newhall

The City of Santa Clarita is inviting community members to get in the holiday spirit and attend three exciting festivities in Old Town Newhall on Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December1, 2007. 

The City will host the inaugural Paint the Town art project along Main Street between Lyons Avenue and 6th Street on Friday, November 30thfrom 3:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The project will feature various schools and children creating holiday themed paintings on the windows of Old Town Newhall businesses.

On Saturday, December 1, the annual Old Town Newhall Children’s Holiday Parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. at 9th Street and continue down Main Street to Newhall Avenue and into William S. Hart Park. Festivities include holiday songs, snow, greeting cards for our U.S.troops, trophies for the best costumes, and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.

Finally, the Santa Clarita Community Center will host a Mural Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, December 1, at 11:00 a.m. The colorful mural celebrates the various programs held at the Community Center, and was painted by special needs children from across the valley and created by local non-profit organization the Special Children’s Art Foundation. The Santa Clarita Community Center is located at 22421 Market Street.
