Domestic Violence
Thousands of women daily are victims of domestic violence. Many of those women are residents in Santa Clarita. Few of those women do anything about it. The reasons for all of the above are baffling to me, but it is some people’s reality.
There is help here in Santa Clarita. If you or someone you know is suffering from domestic violence there is a resource called the SCV Domestic Violence Center. They are available 24 hours a day and took 500 calls last year alone from local residents.

Don’t forget that you can visit the North Pole at the Santa Clarita main post office before Xmas and play Santa to as many of these displaced families as you can afford. We selected a family like this and spoke with their social worker to find out ages, sizes and what they needed and then she came out and picked up the presents to deliver to Mom and the kids. I’m sure they were VERY surprised to get a load of goodies for Xmas, since they were living on the bare minimum at a “safe house” at the time! One of the little girls had written to Santa asking for gifts for her sisters and her Mom, but not for herself.
