Fair Oaks Ranch in Canyon Country
Pardee Homes brings four new communities to Canyon Country calling them Fair Oaks Ranch. Just off the 14 freeway at the Via Princessa off-ramp you will find this welcoming and impressive selection of homes.
Fair Oaks Ranch consists of four models.
- Woodglen (low 600k’s) offers up to 4 bdrms and 3 baths & up to 2,442 sq ft.
Hearthstone (600k’s) up to 5 bedrooms and 4 baths and up to 2,783 sq ft.
Fairmont (700k’s) up to 5 bedrooms and 5.5 baths and up to 4,353 sq ft.
Mayfair (800k’s) up to 7 bedrooms, 4 baths and up to 3,639 sq ft.
Fair Oaks Ranch offers its residents a rec center, playground and hiking and biking trails.
This is really quite a good selection for home owners. With square footage ranging from 2,099 to 4,353 there is really something for any family, even one with 7 bedrooms. Wow!

Santa Clarita Softball Advances to CIF Quarter-Finals
Hart and Valencia advanced to round 3 ‘quarter-finals’ in the 2007 CIF-SS Play-Offs.
Hart defeated Los Alamitos 7-4 and will play a stacked Camarillo team on Thursday at Newhall Park. The Vikings beat Simi Valley 5-0 closing the gap after a grand slam by Tori Anderson in the 3rd pretty much sealed it for them. Valencia faces Marina H.S. on Thursday at Valencia.
The Saugus Centurions battled through 9 innings, but lost to Marina H.S. 1-0 to end their 2007 season. Coach P and his girls battled to the end, but came up short in the end. Kudos to my two favorite Saugus players Alexis Tellez and Jackie Shimamoto. I was really routing for you girls! Just wait til next year.
If Hart and Valencia keep winning they will face off in the finals at Deanna Manning Stadium in Irvine June 1st or 2nd.
Check out the CIF bracket here.
Go Vikings!!
Gorman Fire
A brush fire broke out yesterday in Gorman at about 2pm. The fire spread to about 2500 acres and as of Saturday night was 30% contained. No injuries have been reported, but it certainly filled the skies of Santa Clarita with smoke and left some ash on our cars.
Check out some pixs below.

Newhall Ranch Rd
At the risk of sounding like a total tree hugger…what the heck happened to the trees on Newhall Ranch Rd??
I received an email from a local resident asking me if I knew anything about it. I don’t. I drove over to see for myself what she was talking about and sure enough, there is a bunch of construction going on in the middle of the street, but did they have to cut down the trees?
This resident informed me that she spoke to the city and the city said it was the developer that did it. Sounds like finger pointing to me. Doesn’t something like that need to be approved by somebody first?
Anybody know what happened to them and why?
Circus Vargas is Coming to Town
The circus is back at the Saugus Speedway from May 28th through June 1st. This is usually a good show if you are into clowns and circus acts. I am saying this with a bit of sarcasm only because I personally don’t like clowns. At any rate, kids usually love the circus, so it will most likely be a great time for your family.
