Santa Clarita Voted Best Place to Live in California
CNN Money has a list out of the top 100 places to live in the Unites States. Santa Clarita is number #18 on the list and the highest ranked California city. Simi Valley came in at #35. The overall winner was Fort Collins, CO.
One thing I noticed is that Santa Clarita’s leisure and culture category shows that we are below average as compared to all the other ‘best places to live’. We need more movie theatres, bars and restaurants. We need more stuff to do around here.
Regardless, this is a great place to live. It’s a friendly community that is clean and safe. I wouldn’t want to raise my kids anywhere else. As a resident of about 15 years, I have to concur with CNN.

Close to twenty years ago when I was single and selling brand new homes in the area, People would ask “what do you do after dark for fun? The common answer amongst the sales staff was “leave” or “go over the hill”. We have come a long way in that time.
Now as a wife and mother, im glad there is a certain quiet and lack of bustle going on in the neighborhoods. Its nice that we have more evening activities and places to enjoy music.
I hope that along with the growth, we do get more cultural and leisure activities, especially for the adults.
