Make a Difference Day - Volunteer!
The Volunteer Resources Center is a great place to look for ways to help out in your community. They will be participating in ‘Make A Difference Day’ on Saturday 10/27/2007 where there will be multiple volunteer projects going on at the same time in Santa Clarita from 8am-3pm. For more info on that call 661-250-3720 or go to their website.
There are many different ways for you to volunteer your time to some great causes in and around the city of Santa Clarita. Many organizations rely on people to give freely of their time. So, now that the kids are back in school, if you’re sitting around watching TV or find yourself out shopping too much, maybe try giving up a morning or afternoon to a worthy cause.
Some of the positions needed include volunteers for the Santa Clarita Street Art Festival on 9/29 or the Henry Mayo 5k Run, there are many that go all the way til the end of the year and some are ongoing.
The city also has many of them listed on their website. Check it out!
Jose Conseco to Appear at Shin’s Grand Opening
Jose Conseco will be at the Shin’s Grand Opening this Saturday from 1pm-6pm. Special guests also include Grandmaster Shin himself.
Kids will be able to watch trampoline, tumbling and martial arts demonstrations. In addition to watching, I’m guessing the ids will be able to try out the trampoline along with Shin’s over sized rock wall.
Look out Scooters Jungle, looks like there might be a new place to have birthday parties in town.
