Castaic High School On Hold

I just read that the Hart district has put plans for the new Castaic High School on hold. I am not familiar with all the ins and outs of the process that building a high school entails. I am sure it involves mountains of meetings, paperwork, debates, etc. As a local resident I feel that the length of time and controversy that has been associated with this project is just ridiculous. I don’t live in Castaic, but if I did I’d be fuming right now.

On the heels of the unpopular decision to move Castaic kids from West Ranch to Valencia, I doubt this news will be received positively.

I find it frustrating that school or no school, homes will continue to be built from Castaic through to Val Verde. Where the heck will these kids go to school?

Santa Clarita Schools Just Got A Breath of Fresh Air

Nancy Copley is the perfect choice for the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services.  I may be wrong, but I am assuming that this will put her right below Superintendent Winger in the chain of command.

I have first hand knowledge working with Nancy as I served my time on the PTA board at Meadows while she was Principle there.  Nancy is a strong determined woman with high values and a work ethic that motivates people to want to do things for her.  I could go on, but really, the fact that she was chosen for the position is enough kudos for her I suppose.

At any rate, I am very happy to hear the news of her new role in our community.  She will me a fantastic leader as well as mentor to many of our kids teachers and school administrators.
