Don’t forget, before your teen can get their permit they will need proof that they have registered with driver’s training.  (Along with the other documents they will need.)

Zumba is a blend of salsa, merengue and a little hip hop.  The music is energizing and the routines are learned over about 5-6 classes, so don’t go to one then give up.

You can set the tone for your own work our and go slow or hit it hard.  You can burn between 500-800 calories in an hour Zumba class depending on how much you are pushing yourself.  You will see for yourself that a handful of ladies are “really” in to it and leave there dripping sweat as if they where just on “So You Think You can Dance”. Seriously, nothing wrong with that, I want to be just like them when I grow up.

The William S. Hart Union High School District is proud to offer parents and students the first CADRE drug awareness seminar dealing with the issue of drug, steroid and alcohol use and their affects on the school community and families. The program will cover common drugs found in our area and their affects on the human body, how to assist your student in resisting peer influences regarding drug and alcohol use and what to look for when drug and alcohol use is suspected. Please join us on March 24, 2009 at 7 p.m. at the Valencia High School Multi Purpose Room. You will also receive information on the CADRE voluntary random drug testing component and how to enroll in this valuable and important program to help keep our students off drugs.

In prior years this event has been host to about 400 Santa Clarita families.  They also will possibly be needing volunteers so if you are interested in spending a few hours giving back to the community give them a call and see if they need any help.

Last year’s events included a community baby shower, maternity fashion show, big belly contest, prizes, a jumper and more. They also gave complimentary massages and mini facials to honor the mom’s that attended the event.

Always a town favorite and located in the COC parking lot the Santa Clarita Emergency Expo will me March 21, 2009 from 10am-2pm.  We’ve had our share of disasters in the SCV so the expo offers us great oppoortunities to learn and be prepared for an emergency.  Attend the expo and create a family emergency plan, build emergency home and car kits and stay on top of up to date information.

How many people have already received donations?
No one has received donations yet, because our first Candidate “ESCAPE THEATER” in Santa Clarita, is in their 3 month cycle. Meaning we are currently raising money for them and on April 1st we will present them with a check in the amount of whatever money we raise. They are an amazing non-profit theater program for kids and adults. They are trying to raise money to build their own theater, and EPIC LIFE wants to help them do so.

What is your donations quota to achieve your philanthropic goals?
I would love to raise at least $10,000 in 3 months for Escape Theater and hopefully the same amount for each candidate following. There however, is no amount to achieve my philanthropic goals, becuase I wish I could help carry them all the way to achieving their dream.

What inspired you to spear head this idea?
As a struggling artist and Entrepreneur I have a lot of compassion for the artistic, creative, and entrepreneur heart. There are so many people out there with amazing visions, ideas, inventions, and business concepts that simply just don’t have the means of making their dreams and visions a reality and it breaks my heart to watch some one have so much passion for something, but no way of making it a reality.

How can people donate?
People can donate by going to epicrevolution.org and simply click the donate button, or they can purchase any of the merchandise on the store page. People that donate $100 or more will have their names put on the site in the contributors page and businesses that wish to donate can put their logo on the site with a link connecting to their site as well.

Don’t freak out people. This is not a big deal. Just plan ahead. If you are a AAA member you can process almost anything you can do at the DMV at the AAA office on Valencia Blvd. (and they are also open a couple Saturday’s a month). Plus the people are nicer because they aren’t state employees.

There are also quite a few transactions that can be done online, like renewing your drivers license or registration to name a couple. You can also make appointments online at the DMV website.
