Brazilian Steakhouse - Barbacoa Churrascaria
I recently had dinner at a new Brazilian churrascaria (steakhouse) in Santa Clarita. This one is really good and I am definitely going back on an empty stomach.
Barbacoa is located where Wild Time used to be in the Valencia Marketplace behind Starbucks. (Old Rd and McBean). The meats are delicious and their buffet sides are great. They offer 12 different meat choices including lamb, picanha, tri-tip filet and more. They sell beer and wine and the all you can eat meal is around $35.
If you’re wondering where to go for Valentine’s Day I’d suggest giving this a try for two reasons. First off, since it’s new hopefully it won’t be as crowded. Second, the food and the service is really good.
The number in case you want to make a reservation is 288-1123.
Restaurant Delivery Service | SCVGoodToGo
There’s a restaurant delivery service in town that is super convenient and a great resource for Santa Clarita residents.
SCVGoodToGo delivers food from local restaurants all over the SCV. The fee is very reasonable, especially if you drive a gus guzzling SUV, you might spend $5 just in gas to go get food from your favorite restaurant across town.
You can call in early and place an order for later that day, they take credit cards and they will also deliver for catered events as well.
Call them at 661-259-8246 for more information or go to their website.
Geisha Japanese Fusion Restaurant
There’s a new Japanese restaurant in town called Geisha. It’s located in the new mall on Tourney Rd and Magic Mountain Pkwy. I haven’t been there yet, but if anyone has, let us know how you liked it.
Their menu offers up some great lunch specials that includes a “Happy Boat” for $14.95 pp. It includes chicken teriyaki, BBQ beef ribs, vegetable tempura, gyoza dumpling, California roll and fruit…plus soup, salad and rice. Sounds pretty good.

The Garden Spot
I had lunch at The Garden Spot on the corner of Newhall Ranch Rd and Copperhill (next to Chipotle). If you’re in the mood for a fresh and healthy lunch, I highly recommend The Garden Spot.
They have some great choices as far as healthy food goes. They prepare delicious fresh tossed salads that are really tasty and quite big. Sharing one might be a good idea unless you are starving.
They offer salads, baked potatoes, salads on a bun and wraps. We had the Cobb and the Chicken Tortilla Salad. They offer 13 different salad dressings (I recommend the Mint-Lime Cilantro-Yum!)
The Garden Spot is located at:

Zpizza
There’s a new pizzeria in town. Zpizza is located in the Promenade Shopping Center on the corner of McBean and Magic Mountain Parkway.
Zpizza offers a healthy alternative to pizza. With low fat cheeses and organic tomato sauce, how could it be bad for you? Zpizza also offers some flavor alternatives such as a ‘Mexican pizza’ and a ‘Thai pizza’. The Mexican pizza uses salsa instead of tomato sauce and sour cream and avocado replaces sausage and pepperoni. The Thai pizza comes with peanut sauce as the base.
If you like California Pizza Kitchen, you’ll like Zpizza. They also offer salads and sandwiches.
Check out their new location at the Promenade.

I haven’t been there yet, so if you have any reviews, please comment them.
Restaurant Review | Georgeâ??s Bistro
This has to be the best kept secret in town. I hate to spread the word because I admit that I like the fact that there usually is no wait for a table there, but here we go.
If you have not been to George’s Bistro you are missing out on some of the best meals available in Santa Clarita. This is as close to fine dining as you’ll get unless you go to the TPC or Vines. The meals are amazing.
We went there with a party of 9 so I was able to see many different items from the menu. All of the entrees came out at once and everything was just delicious.
If you go to George’s try the Paella. It is fantastic. Other things I’d recommend there…the seafood is like butter. We’ve had the Halibut, Swordfish and the Chilean Sea Bass. They have been cooked to perfection every time.
If I had to pick one thing I would change, I guess it would be the drink prices. The Martini’s range from $8 to $11. Kind of pricey I think, but the quality of the food makes up for it. Our tab for the party of 9 including cocktails, dessert and tip was $440, so about $48 bucks a person.
Check out George’s, you won’t be disappointed.
FYI-They also have a bar/lounge area.

Restaurant Review | Hundred Islands Grill
My son and I made our way over to the new Filipino restaurant in Santa Clarita called the Hundred Islands Grill. It’s located at 26238 Bouquet Canyon Rd (right where Bouquet turns into San Fernando, by Del Taco) and their number is 260-3502.
The food is amazing.
We had the Lumpia Shanghai (deep fried egg rolls)
Chicken Curry and Chicken Adobo
Everything tasted so fresh and I was glad to have left overs for lunch today.
I noticed a sign on the window that said they offer roasted pig. So if you’re into that, give them a call. They also had a karaoke set up in there. When we went, we were the only ones in there, but I will definitely be going back.
