Time to go through your closets and make room for new Christmas goodies. Do you have clothing or shoes in good condition hanging in there that you have not worn? Any warm jackets that you might not want any more?
You can take them over to Flair Dry Cleaning by Vons Pavillion and donate to their Clothing Drive.

Downtown Newhall – More Upgrades to Main Street
Prepare for more construction through the streets of Old Town Newhall. Starting March 16th workers will begin construction that is hoped to be completed by July 3rd. (Before the annual July 4th parade)
The construction will focus on streetscaping. Basically that means they will be tearing up the sidewalks between 6th St and 8th St and adding landscaping, benches, trash cans, lamp posts, etc. One major change will be bulb-outs in the sidewalks. At intersections the sidewalk will stick out a bit and curve. Supposedly this ‘calms down’ traffic. Anyone remember the brilliant “back in parking”? Let’s hope the bulb-outs are done in a way that won’t freak everybody out. Sometimes too much change is just not a good thing.
At ant rate, businesses WILL BE OPEN, so support the businesses in Newhall so they are still around after this major upgrade which is costing about 2.5 million dollars.

Bridgeport Marketplace
You must check out the shops and restaurants in the Bridgeport Marketplace. If you wanted to, you could easily spend the day there. All they need is a place for breakfast. So far I haven’t seen a coffee shop going in. Although if you try on Sunday you could start by having brunch at Sabor.

Next take a little walk across the parking lot to Chic to get your nails done.
Then go next door to Cardio Girl to work off the brunch. (Anyone else think it’s funny that there are 2 handicap parking spots in front of Cardio Girl?)
